- Timing … rain is expected to change over to snow from west to east today. All snow will end from west to east in the evening hours.
- Location … this Winter Weather Advisory statement is for the counties of Young… Jack… wise… Denton… Collin… Hunt… Delta and Hopkins.
- Main impact… snowfall accumulations between 2 and 4 inches.
- Other impacts… northwest winds of 25 to 35 mph with higher gusts will result in areas of blowing snow. This may result in visibility restrictions of less than a half mile. Bridges and overpasses will be the first to ice over… but some surface roads may become icy by late afternoon in areas where heavier snow falls. Precautionary/preparedness actions… Be prepared for icy spots on area roads and highways by Christmas evening. Check Road conditions before departing if you must travel. If travel is necessary… drive with extreme caution. Some light accumulations of snow and ice are possible… especially on elevated surfaces. Bridges and overpasses will be the first locations where icy spots may develop.
