Lena tells him that they don’t need a Happiness Machine. Leo says that he’s going to build the Machine for others. He says it that would cure-all depressed. He is greeted with only silence, but is too preoccupied with noting the sounds of nature that would belong in the Machine to notice this foreshadowing.
